The Wealth Formula
MINDSET+SKILLSET+...
BE. DO.HAVE
Last week, I introduced the concept of Be, Do, Have. It's about how things grow and create value. Think of a seed growing into a tree that bears fruit—this is how value is created.
An asset is a store of value, like a bar of gold or a valuable product. It delivers value to others and becomes a carrier and creator of wealth.
Wealth isn't just financial; it can be social, health-related, emotional/mental or spiritual. (Great read: 5 types of Wealth)
Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering.
Be.
To create an asset, you need a mindset, skill set, and tool set. Your mindset is your identity—the seed.
Do.
Your skill set and tool set are how you do it—the tree and branches.
Have.
The asset is the fruit, the result.
During the gold rush, they wanted the fruit of gold but needed the mindset (courage, entrepreneurial, adventurer) to venture west.
The skillset to find gold, and tools like shovels and wagons.
Today, it's no different.
Be, do, have.
Seed, tree, fruit.
Your Mindset + Skillset + Toolset will help you create Assets.
As a worship leader, you want to lead people into worship and encounter.
You need the right mindset: understanding who God is and your beloved identity.
Your skill set: musical ability and worship leadership skills.
Your tools: instruments, team members, sound equipment.
Combining these creates value - the corporate worship encounter.
We often focus on improving our skillsets and toolsets but overlook our mindset - which makes all the difference.
Successful entrepreneurs aren't necessarily more skilled; they think differently. Their mindset lets them see and grab more opportunities otherwise equally available to us.
In worship or any area of life, there's an order: BE first. “Start with Why”, as Simon Sinek says. Then DO. Then HAVE.
Lovers will always outwork workers.
It’s who not how.
