The secret to Christianity’s hard questions
Here is a quote that has helped transform how I see God, what it means to be a Christian:
A little context: Jesus is God, but we don’t always think God is like Jesus. In his personality and temperament.
We struggle with the dichotomy between a God who says “kill everyone including the kids” ( 1 Samuel 15:2-3, Deuteronomy 20:16-18, and Numbers 31:17-18) and the one who says “let the children come” (Matthew 19:14).
God is like Jesus
God has always been like Jesus
There has never been a time when God was not like Jesus
We haven’t always known this
But now we do
I’m tempted to break it down here, but you might get more from asking Holy Spirit line by line what it means and the implications…
Remember
“The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature—his mirror image! He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of his spoken word…”
