Everything is impossible until it isn't

180 Points right here

I recently watched a World Cup of Darts final, and it was amazing to see how the players could almost effortlessly hit a triple 20… What? They don’t aim for the bullseye?? Perhaps you aren’t a dart fan (neither am I), so let me explain with his graphic. It’s all about the points.

A triple 20 is worth 60 points, and a bullseye (in the red center) is worth 50.

I'm sure they could hit a bullseye, too, if they wanted to. Every time they threw a dart, it went exactly where they intended. Exactly. Every time. Try it - it’s an incredible feat to do it once, let alone all the time. This skill didn't come cheap or easy.

These players must have spent years practicing for countless hours, missing the triple 20 more often than hitting it. Yet they persevered and eventually reached a level of mastery where they could perform under pressure. Cameras, packed rooms of other expert dart players—people who can also hit triples... just less frequently and consistently.

This made me think about "corporate encounter" in worship gatherings. I define that as “when everyone in the room knows Jesus is here and responds accordingly and appropriately together”.

It might seem impossible to expect an encounter every time we gather since we don't usually experience one. But like the dart players, if we keep pursuing it with intention, practice, and dedication, we'll start experiencing it more and more until it becomes normal.

Imagine if we experienced a corporate encounter every time we gathered. Even though it's rare, we should still keep the idea. The rarity makes it worth striving for. Aim high, expect more, and go after it every time you lead.

We need a community to support each other and work together to pursue this goal.

Keep going until the Lord's glory fills the whole world.

It always seems impossible until it's done.
