Eat Healthy
Mentally

Today is Good Friday, and last night I watched The Passion of the Christ. It's been a few years since I last saw it, and I wanted to get into the right mindset. (And ‘remember’ what He went thru)
When I sing or lead worship, it's crucial for me to be truly connected to what I'm singing or saying. I want to come from a place of truth and authenticity, not just go through the motions.
Watching the movie really helped.
Our imaginations play a big role in how we lead and connect with others. Our emotions are sparked by what's in our heads, and this affects how we lead worship.
Embracing our creative side, our imagination, and our ability to see and hear things is important. It's vital to put the right visuals in front of us.
Visual stimuli can lead us to either negative or positive places, and we get to choose what we focus on.
It's important to set before our eyes the truth of who God is and what He says about Himself. We should focus on things that draw us closer to Him.
On this Easter Weekend, it's easy to go through the motions after rehearsing and preparing for Sunday.
But find ways to use your imagination and inspire yourself to see Jesus.
This could be through prayer time or other ways like watching The Passion of the Christ or stories like the Life of David (on Amazon Prime)
Seeing David wrestle with his sense of calling and direction can give you perspective on your own life.
We get to choose what we set before our minds, and this choice manifests in our actions and those actions create the life we have - for better or worse.
We are where we are because of how we think, and we think the way we do because of what we've set before our eyes.
This isn't just about watching Christian movies, but about making deliberate media choices that will affect us positively. Choose wisely and don't be passive about it.
A healthy mind is a built on what you consume. Eat healthy.
I know this post is not typical Good Friday stuff, but He died that we would have the life He created us to have… let’s not waste it on junk.
Good Friday.
Have a grateful Easter Sunday!
