Desired Outcome
Pick Wisely... but have one.
When building features for a product, product teams will talk about the desired outcome. When we build this ‘feature,’ what do we want people to do? What change in behavior do we want to see? It’s important because what we pick will determine what we optimize for Its important because what we pick will determine what we optimize for.
When it comes to our next worship set - what is the desired outcome? It’s important because what we pick will determine what we optimize for.
Is it a great set of well-executed songs?
No mistakes?
Deep worship for the hungry?
Nice, polite, seeker-sensitive time
Sing some new songs that we really love?
Express our own passion for Him in worship
Minister to Jesus?
Reflect on His Revelation
Unite the worship of the congregation
Just get through the set?
Start a revival?
Hope the in-ear mix is OK?
Whatever it is - and pick wisely - go after it, and I hope you get what you are after…
Personally, right now, as a worship leader - it’s Unite the Worship of The Congregation.
But that’s me… what about you?
On my way to Dallas to speak at a worship retreat… gotta run…
